Thank You For My Gift


I was sitting here last night

Thinking about all the stuff I’ve been through.

Saw a few pictures we had taken

And my heart felt like it had been renewed

I sat back from my projects

And actually began to smile

Then I started to laugh a little,

Wow it has been a while

I couldn’t help myself as

 I nodded my head and began to pray

I thanked the Lord for you right then

And that the sun will shine another day

Then  as a tear of joy,

Began to roll down from my eye

I started writing this for you,

Cause I wanted you to know why

I know that you have suffered

Your loss has been so much to bear

I know first hand myself how it feels

When everything seems to be so unfair

And then in my despair just

When I feel the grip of defeat

He always sends me a blessing

To help my stand back on my feet

So many times I never know, who or why

And rarely even see it coming

When the blessing takes hold of me,

Well it’s amazing it really is something

It occurred to me as I sat there

And Trying to reorganize my life

How much you truly have come to mean to me

The level of relief you helped to ease my strife

Then I closed my eyes for a moment

To rest and start to reflect

I never saw that coming

You I definitely didn’t expect

I want to thank you also

For the kindness, patience and respect

Thank you for helping me open up again

With the world helping me to reconnect

I hope and pray you know I’m here for you

That you never have to fear or doubt

All you have to do is call for me

I’m always somewhere around about

I’m so greatful for your gift to me

I know how rare and precious

I‘ll always be mindful of it

And thankful for where He has put Us

I didn’t know how much I enjoyed

Having you around

It truly calms my soul, comfort

And peace again it has helped me found

So I hope your day is wonderful

Knowing now how much to me you mean.

I feel as if I just woke up again, and

My nightmares were replaced by a beautiful dream.

So I thank the Lord again for the blessing of you,

That is shinning down on me

It truly is amazing what we’re given

Even when we’re struggling to believe.
