    Poem Commentary

Let's spread the awareness and appreciation of the visual arts. It's so much wrapped up in our everyday life that we may not even realize it. Most of the things that we touch are designed by the visual artists. And sometimes the world undermines their contribution to this prosperous and developed society.

    The Artist's Cause

    The Artist's Cause

I would love the time when art is will always be,
Afforded by all people, race or class of the society,
For now great pieces are afforded in the grandeur of famous walls,
Mostly of the rich elite, in festive banquets balls.

Though most splendid artistic creations are made by common men,
For me it's just a pleasure when critiqued by the pen,
Sometimes it's great to donate one for charitable cause,
For I think it's noble, with or without great applause.

You just may never know who will see that one,
It may be your big day! while enjoying all it's fun.
It's so sad that sometimes the artist never gains,
The rewards of his creations, sometimes will cause pain.

That was so much noticed with people like Van Googh,
His life is one of many rumbling highs and lows.
Give the artist the benefits of praise while alive today,
Not when he's recluse or when he's passed away?

There are those who's waiting for great art to appear,
The splendor of the paintings they just will not care,
they are more concerned with cost, but just don't know how!
The origins of each creations, painted then and now.

Isn't the artist worth it while alive today?
For deserved compensation, the perks that you should pay?
Remember the artistic brilliance, of works do not just appear,
There's a life behind it, that you should show some care.

I am very fortunate to have sold many great pieces through,
Galleries and agents, appearing out of the blue,
Thank you so much patrons, you made it worthwhile,
I've aspired to be a painter, from a little child.
and thank you for your faithful purchases of my precious art.
You have given me encouragement, you gave me the first start.

Thanks for your very kind comment my friend.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
