    The Back of Your Mind

    The pain...
    is it enough?
    Willpower must be gained.
    You want to.
    Oh, you want to.
    But a meek fragile voice,
    from the very tip of your mind.
    It just...
    wont let you.
    You have the gun.
    The bullets. The blade.
    The whiskey and the grass.
    The empty hour.
    And the bottles of pills.
    But that little voice...
    She wont give in.
    She holds her own, she doesn't back down.
    She's fighting for your life,
    only...
    You aren't her ally this time..
    Listen to the voice, she knows.
    The voice?
    Yeah... Thats me.

    thanks! this is for my best friend, rachel, who is also a self harmer, and i hope to be the voice she hears that makes her stop :)
