The Comic Book You've Never Read
You live in a love triangle;similar to when in the presence,
of posters on your wall
you put up the newest one,
in hopes the older one will fall
on a poster of Superman is a picture of him,
mine is on Batman's;
I'm the latter absence of love's interim.
Love him now,
from your love, watch his heart secede
Clark has manly strength,
but Bruce can provide your future's financial needs.
You're with me but you're heart beats for Superman,
I'm sorry, I can't do what he can
I can fight him,
with my utility belt's contraband,
but that won't prove who's the better man.
I really don't like being in the shadow of his light;
he's the man of steel,
I'm working on being his kryptonite
he used his x-ray vision,
to see how I broke your heart
I had used my cape,
cloaking my heart from the start.
In my dreams,
I can't save you from horrific events
he's only after,
what's beneath your accouterments.
You're with me,
but you're heart beats for Superman
I'm sorry I can't,
I can't run after you as fast as he can.
