The Fall of the Ivory Tower

She's a tower of strength
She's pure she's divine
Her skin is pale as the stars
Her heart's colder than ice

She's a beauty crafted
With hard words and steel
Her hair is blacker than coal
Her soul broken and sealed

She's falling face first
Headed straight for the ground
She's trying to win
Her emotions unsound

She runs from her conscience
Afraid and alone
What she used to be
Now forever is gone

She falls to her knees
Alabaster turning to glass
She falters and cries
Her tears-a diamond surprise

And now she's free falling
Spiraling toward the ground
Giving up trying to win
The ivory tower falls down

I love the metaphors you use in this one. The imagery is great and the deep rooted meaning is prevalent thru-out. A very nice piece.

damn!!!! what a tragedy, what could make such a strong woman fall, what could destroy something as beautiful as strength and confidence (the good kind) ?

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
