The Game

  • I've been gone for quit some time but I'm back and ready to write more poetry.

The Game

How many times we gonna play this game of who was wrong and who was right who told the lies and who was made to cry.
I dont want to feel like this any more I'm so tired of playing this game I just want to throw up my arms and shout "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" it's time to find forgivness and stop hurting each other.

We've been friends for way to many years to throw it all away on some silly little fight.
You were the one who I always turned to when life got me down, the one I leaned on when i was to weak to stand on my own.
You use to hold my hand when I was sick, alone and afraid of what might happen.
This foolish game that we're playin has caused more then just heartache and pain, I'm swallowing my pride, I'm so sorry for the pain that I caused I never wanted to hurt you this way.
I'm just so sorry for the pain that I caused.

We both grew up in a small town, found each other on a dusty country road.
We both needed someone so much, now this game we're playin is distroying everything we worked so hard for.
Do you really want to throw away all these years of telling secrets about broken hearts, lost loves and people we liked.
All for a silly game.

One moment we're talkin like nothing ever happend the next, one of us are running out the door in tears.
Hurtful word that shread the soul, this is a dangerous game that we're playing.
Hearts will be broken and feelings will be hurt, I dont wanna play the game any more, if I have to tell you goodbye just to stop the game then I will.
I just want you to know that no mater what I will always always be here for you I will not roam.
I will wait for you to come back to me, my arms will be open wide and my heart will be ready to forgive.
No more! No more! of the game.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
