The Man

The Man

There was a man
Sitting in the park
Head looking up
Tears falling down.
"What do I do now,
I have nothing left
Excpt for myself?"
The man was just
One of those millions
Lucky survival
Of natural calamities.
He lost his wife
He lost his six kids
In just a matter of hours
One day in Ormoc City
In the year 1991.
The man was brave enough
To face his fate
Head looking up
Tears falling down
Thanking the Almighty
Seeking new strength
For a life that is just
About to begin . . .

Such a beautiful work you've created relating the beginning of a new life of a man whom has lost everyone and everything. Sheer brilliance!

Thanks a lot!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
