    THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FLOWER

     she's a delicate
    petitie sprout
    dark shadows .. her enemies
    aging trees .. surround

    desperately she yearns
    for a single ray of light
    to inhabit her
    a breath of life

    hefty branches .. crash near
    abusively beating and bruising
    she continues standing
    refusing to wilt

    harsh winds blow
    sweeping rains .. pelt hard
    slowly bending
    her fragility

    she endures all elements
    stronger .. bigger she grows
    warmth from the bright .. shiny sphere
    passes between congested leaves
    caressing her .. lightly

    deeper
    she breathes
    moist .. cool air
    blending with nature's heat

    her once weak stem .. strengthens
    tender petals take shape
    in the forest
    she has become
    the most beautiful flower

    So sensual and beautiful. People dont always realize us hippies can be romantic too haha. And with our excellant taste in music, we always know how to set the mood haha. Excellant write my friend. I thouroughly enjoyed it. ~Spence

    Thanks Spence, yeah we carried romance to very different levels than other "cliques" did. Few actually know of this yet we're a force to be reckoned with even though anti-establishment is still a present day attitude. -SBear

    I really enjoyed the imagery and some of the language in this. The one thing that bothers me, however, is the various ellipsis's used. I felt like some of these could have been line breaks or something else instead. Overall, a poem I can get behind.
