Poem Commentary

A beautiful early spring day. We all came out to play....

A Walk With a Friend

The sun shone bright and warm
The forest called me home
The breezes cool upon my skin
Caused my clear blue eyes to swim

My breath drew in crisp clean air
My spirit rose to the affair
I called them all to my side
Let's walk the trail by the riverside

I hear the thump as snow balls fall
bending branches release them all
The remains of the last deep storm
And so the trees regain their form

Along the trail seeds fall on me
And I watch the little chickadee
sing his song as he hops along
collecting seed from tree to tree

A bobcat track along the way
following the gentle sway
of the frosty river bank
shares stories of it's day

I sit down and meditate
at home among the trees
as the spirit of the forest
rustles the dried leaves

earthly commented on A Walk With a Friend

As I read this I felt I could see the scene that you described-what life is found on walks with friends-Namaste...Earthly

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
