The Power of Words

Hateful words are often said and then taken back It's like unringing a bell, the damage is done They cause a ripple effect in so many lives From this, insecurities may have already begun Your words can sometimes be a weapon So keep guards and safeties intact Saying what is on your mind Could make a momentous impact Think before you speak Let kindness guide your course Many people haven’t the skills To maintain considering the source Allow compassion to take residence Inside your heart and help to direct If consideration is not your strong suit At least keep that sharp tongue checked

I love your poetry, and your wise counsel. Its a lesson to be learned by many.

So the Bible says. . ."From out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." How many times have we wished at one time or another, how we really wish we wouldn't have said that. Or even, "What was I thinking?" That's just it. maybe we weren't!
