The Sadness,

    The Sadness,

I’ve grown so weary of this lonely feeling,

I cannot find the strength to continue concealing,

    The sadness that dwells within

It leaves me empty, consuming emotion,

Life has become devoid of devotion,

My days, dreaming of ways to set myself free

Life without happiness is merely living through hell,

When I made my wish, empty was the well,

I’ll go silently, so not to stir a commotion

You will not know the time or place,

When I choose to accept disgrace

But do know, I will be remembering your face,

Should I sit or should I kneel?

Heavy is the feel, so cold is the steel

If anyone asks, just let 'em know,

    No longer could I deal

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
