The Wait

Fortune shines on this becoming day
A light so bright it's like a dawn in may
How well will the gift be received?
Or will the Gods be deceived?
So well it went
Or so is said
With the results in
We shall know then

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
