This Sleepy Little Town

Everything was calm in this sleepy little town
Everyone had worked hard here and kept their noses to the ground
We worked as a community to help each other out
There was noone in this town that would have ever let us pout
It was in this town that i had retreated from another small little town
In this other small town i had watched as my past had burned down to the ground
Suddenly in this town one day there became quite a stir
A little school aged girl became missing and life in this sleepy little town took a detour
The nation listened with great zest as we tried to find this precious daughter of God in this sleepy little town
We had hoped to THe Lord that this little girl would not have been buried in the ground
It caught us all by surprise that noone in the country could find her
When suddenly one warm April night there was a suitcase found in this sleepy little town
The suitcase was in a ditch and it tore our hearts out without a sound
The entire community had prayed the little girl would not be in that suitcase but our prayers were for naught
For in that small suitcase lied the missing little girl from this sleepy little town
The Nation had cried with us when we had realized that she had died
I can remember watching the news that night in a pool of tears as i had cried
I couldnt believe something so vile and disgusting could exist in this little town
It was a town that i retreated to when my dreams had burned to the ground
May God protect this little girl from this sleepy little town
Save her from the sufferings she had been put through before being buried in the ground

Oh, this is so sad! There was only two errors, but they are pale when you grasp the seriousness of this story.

How deeply moving and heart wrenching. The devil walks within the souls of those who could hurt another; especially a child. Excellent work.

Very well written and a truly sad accounting to be sure. It's horrible when things like this happen Great job expressing yourself. 10 from me.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
