Three Little Girls and the Witch's Tower
In the Rock Garden in Old Harmon Park,Stands a witch's tower with 13 steps to the top.
And most brave little children who dare climb the steps
Would find a locked wooden door and would stop.
Whoever said it was borinig in their small country town,
Just had to be dumb, or just plain lying!
'Cuz, "Once Upon A TIme" three little girls went to the tower
To do some important spying.
Bent on seeing the old witch face to face,
they ventured to the tower without bother.
They didn't tell anyone, they wanted to be safe,
And they felt they could only trust each other.
Two girls were to stand lookout, while third was
to pry open the staunch wooden door
So the third little girl climbed up to the top,
when she reached it, found an unlocked door...
Without warning, the door suddenly flew open,
There stood a large, hairy man, a patch over one eye.
At such a fright the three started running, screaming all the way home,
leaving without even saying goodbye.
(Later that day, one daddy would say,
" Some kids gave Old George, the parkkeeper,
a big scare today.)
