Poem Commentary

“Poets often use many words to say a simple thing …” so an old song goes.

I’d like to convey a very simple message, but simple as it is, I’m afraid it might be easily forgotten. In fact, I only wanted to say three words …

three words

a few words I would like to say

in treating others everyday.

please take pleasant pleasure

in pleasing the displeased

with pleasurable pleasantries;

consider being considerate

in considering

considerable considerations

considerately; and,

I think it would be kindest

if you could kindly kindle

all your unkindled kindness

to every kind of kindred.

again,

let me repeat

it over

for the second time

once more,

and if you will allow

I’ll shorten it somehow

to three words I would like to say -

in treating others everyday;

please consider kindness.

Yeah!!!! This poem is very well written. I like the redundancy element. Have you been published? This needs to be out there in the world for everyone to see!!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
