Time and Space

The world spins, never ceasing

The days pass in an endless chain

The sun shines, its energy releasing

Soothing warmth to relieve our persistent pain

The heavens expand in a mysterious dance

Of stars and other matter undefined

We seek to understand as if frozen in an eerie trance

But to no avail as we remain intellectually blind

Time races on unbridled as we observe in awe

We count the seconds as our only means of coping

Worlds collide and vanish as if made of straw

We look deep within, our minds ever groping

Is this a dream from which there is no awakening?

Are we adrift in a void that exists merely in our minds?

Why must the answers seem forever baffling?

The search goes on as if it never ends

Somewhere in the vacuum of time and space

The answers we seek exist but remain hidden from view

No one to see or hear not so much as a trace

A cocktail of elements, a heavenly home brew

So seek not answers that will only foster disbelief

As the truth is far beyond our ability to embrace

To exist is a miracle beyond human belief

We are but a speck of dust in the vastness of space

I agree with MSV here ... I suppose that when we accept that some things are beyond our grasp it is the beginning of true wisdom? What a great work! Thanks for sharing

It occurrs to me that some answers are hidden because we are not ready for them - ..."as truth is far beyond our ability to embrace..." great perspective, as usual. MSV

Wonderful. After I read it, I took a deep sigh -- the kind of sigh you would make after feasting on truly moving cuisine. Thank you for posting it.

This poem is perfection in poetic verse with rhymes that are so flawless that I could hardly believe their smooth embrace. All of the answers are within us, unfortunately, most of us seek external help for finding ourselves when, in fact, we are not lost but we are were we need to be at any giving time. Another good write!

A complex array of deep, cerebral thoughts played out with master strokes of the pen. Fantastic penmanship. Thanks!

You are too kind. Thank you once again.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
