Too Long

Too Long

Too long has it been without signs

Once smooth face now showing lines.

How much time has passed

A glimmer seen at last.

Engrossed in daily living

Please be as you were once forgiving.

Eyes open but nothing seen

Forgotten how once it had been.

But life dictates time to heal

Remorse now is what to feel.

Too long has it been eyes wide shut

Lost faith wounded as a deep cut.

Another chance to substantiate

To feel the love and lose the hate.

What was lost has always been around

In every touch, sight, smell and sound.

Thank you for curing the incurable

Your love ever endurable.

Once again, sight has been restored

Once again you are adored.

Lovely write. Enjoyed the rhythm and word choices. Haven't written in a while nice to see you back at it. T Lady
