Unless you love me

    Unless you love me

    I make myself at home

in this spot on the floor.

    I get real comfortable

    and plan to stay awhile

    unless you love me.

My cheek to the cold tile,

    salt from my dried tears.

    Knees curled into my chest

    and they will stay there

    unless you want me.

    Vulnerable from all sides,

    open to injury.

    Oblivious to any pain

    that be my fate

    unless you need me.

    I lay here

    waiting to perish

    and fade from history

    hoping to hear those words

    carried by your voice

    to my ears.

I will stay here in my spot

    until the end of me

    unless you love me.
