Poem Commentary

So this is something new from me. It is my own take on a song...or I guess I could call it an attempt. I can't really describe the melody to you...but the melody of the chorus is taken from Seether "Fine Again". For some reason...that song popped into my head when I was trying to write a chorus so I stuck with it...but I am giving credit where it is due...and saying that the chorus was completely inspired by that group and that song. If you have never heard the song...here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrpcICY2TVY Happy reading...and tell me if I should just stick to poetics lol.

"We: The World Famous Shameless Disappearance"(song)

We: The World Famous Shameless Disappearance

I’m wandering blind...
through the sunshine...
I can’t see the rain.

The silver that lines...
the storm clouds...
must be missing again.

The smile I flash...
is wide...
hiding my disdain.

The wedge they drive...
complies...
with dividing my domain.

I’m a thunderous firebird...
or a fiery thunderbird...

depends on how the winds change.

We are...so lost...we may...

never be found again...

Our minds...were free...

but we...kept on...confining them

We’re crashing and burning...just to keep hope alive...some say...one way...we’re not well.

We’re casting a glance...all the way up into the sky...shrugging...asking for some help.

I lost all of my eloquence...
only bitterness remains...
in my brittle brain.

I offer my inner veins...
to the jilted plains...
What’s a little pain?

This porous chain...
is wholly contained...
within my tilted bane...

my existence in ambivalence...
I’m not missing it...
it was much too plain...

though my own due diligence...
found it a hindrance...
too strange too explain.

I boast indifference...
but I shiver when...
the current sees exchange...

a tidal wave of colored notes...
won’t make us refrain...
from singing history’s refrain.

We are...so lost...we may...

never be found again...

Our minds...were free...

but we...kept on...confining them

We’re crashing and burning...just to keep hope alive...some say...one way...we’re not well.

We’re casting a glance...all the way up into the sky...shrugging...asking for some help.

My mind’s too diligent...
for the myth to stick...
that it’s all a game.

they say it’s so different...
there’s no difference when...
repetition is the same.

The imaginary differences...
between the instances....
really are inane.

I open up my window then...
sit and listen in...
to substantiate my claims.

If the world is so profound...
and so renowned...

who are we...

to aggravate the fame?

We are...so lost...we may...

never be found again...

Our minds...were free...

but we...kept on...confining them

We’re crashing and burning...just to keep hope alive...some say...one way...we’re not well.

We’re casting a glance...all the way up into the sky...shrugging...asking for some help.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
