What Was

    What Was

It took time but it seems that I loved you from the start
You had what some want, you had my heart

Now those feelings are lost, with the tide were washed out
In the mass oceans they drift yet still leaving doubt

What is to become is unsure, what was has been seen
This is what you said you wanted for the time being

Will I let another in, the answer cannot be told
For I know not myself what the future holds

At times the past taunts me with endless reminiscence
Which leaves me yearning for a call or a visit

Do I want you back? No, I want you with love
This you will not give so I'm left searching above

If this was how it was meant then I wish I never had you at all
I was one to always stand but your presence made me fall

You will miss out on a lot though you have probably yet to see
No one will ever love you like the love possessed by me
