When I was Young
There was a time when I was young,
When all that mattered was having fun.
Where laughter and joy ruled your day,
Not even fear could make you sway.
There was a time when I was young ,
When making love was all you done.
Their have been many Lovers I must say ,
They were all special in their own little way.
Oh, when I was young and filled with youth,
There were no secrets,no lies just truth.
Their were no boundaries or borders for me,
For I was the King the ruler of this kingdom down by the sea.
When I was young their was no thought of the future or what I may become,
Where the decisions or choices I made mattered because I felt I was to young.
Oh yes these were the days alright when all that maddered was having fun,
How could I have known that Life was a trickster filled with fear if your decision or choice was wrong.
Still I remember those days when I was Young,
Like it was yesterday, but it has been so very long.
Their was a time once when I was young,
When life held meaning and purpose and I could do no wrong.
That was when I was young you see,
But now I old and life has lost its glimmer for me.
My Loves, my joys and hopes shattered upon this lonely sea,
Yet here I stand a thousand years has passed and this is what's left of me.
Yes I remember when I was Young and carefree,
For they are what's left of a life wasted and spent from a man who believed he was a King.
If only I'd listened when I was young,
I would still be happy and carefree and feeling oh so very Young.
But like I said from the start that was when I was Young,
