When up is all there is

When up is all there is

I fell down and down again as if it was a sin
I lost so many battles that I never saw the end
With my mind confused about what to do with my present circumstance
I first stopped doing the redundant thing that never gave me a chance
I reached inside and focused hard to find some kind of strength
And what I found is that falling down was no coincidence
I caught myself, postured my body and quickly planted my feet
I bent my knees a little which made my balance sweet

AMEN!!! Just like in Phillipians 3:14 - I press toward the mark of the upright call of God in Christ Jesus.... That's my favorite scripture. No matter what, we have got to see God in ALL situations and circumstances. There is always an angle, but it's up to us to on how straight or more bent it gets. We must endure hardships being Christians -- how else can we testify His realness and to Him be the glory?

when i read this poem the thought that came to me is this...sometimes being knocked down and getting up makes us stronger and stronger, and maybe we should feel lucky for getting knocked down..... then we know how strong we really are....can you please rate my poem..thanks

Enjoyed reading this. Reminds me of a quote from Albert Einstein, I believe: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

I really enjoyed this one. It reminded me about 'laying down in green pastures'...Good write

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
