    Poem Commentary

chimi-changa! I have no idea what that has to do with this poem but what the heck?! Chimi-Changa!!!

    Why do you weep?

Broken mirror why do you weep?
my secrets you keep, so please
tell me why do you tease these words so sad?
Alone you had made us mad telling it was a passing fad but we knew
it wasn't true... Mirror broken you are still so beautiful if only in pieces
we look and see a token fragment of ourselves in a wondrous work
of art... you move us if only with a thunderous jerk of the heart and
ripples then become creases once time has pressed down on us.

This was strong with relevance and emotion for me. I enjoyed reading it. I noticed you hadn't posted lately and sort of got busy doing something else, dropped off, so to speak. I have enjoyed your talents. Keep it coming.

I think this poem suffers from its form. It looks and reads like a paragraph right now that is a little lopsided. I think some shorter line breaks like the first two and some stanzas would start to put this thing into another catalog for sure. And hide the cliche a bit more as well. Give us the kind of fracture that is in the mirror as well. a poet friend'// RH Peat

I am not sure what cliche you are speaking of, unless my idea that poetry is a broken mirror is unoriginal but if that is the case I was unaware.

give me a little bit of time to work on the structure of the poem, and as for the fracture I guess I can fix it too. I more than anything just wanted to get my thoughts down before I forgot them.

It's a great start for sure. I think it has a lot of possibilities. A poet friend// RH Peat

Thank you. just curious what did you get from the poem?

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
