    Wind

    Wind

Who knows where the wind goes

      after its fury is blown

Perhaps it waits in quiet states,

      its garnishment unknown

    Ravaging coastlines, whirling about

    Sopping landscapes, withholding

      affecting drought

It delivers all manner of chaos and tears

Sewing seeds, rippling waters, casting fears

Blades of ice and drops of rain

are friends and foes in its domain

    Whistling ‘round chimney tops,

      down on meadows over crops

    Soaring high in outer space,

closing in on the heavenly chase

    Rustling leaves and slamming doors

    Driving metal into floors

    Tickling ears, nuzzling navels

    Blowing napkins off of tables

    Sending hopes and dreams o’flight

      into someplace out of sight

    Howling , smashing swingsets, stairs

      Gentling rocking cradles, porch chairs

    Moving turbines in the haze

    Opening sails, curling waves

I felt you strong just yesterday

Now it’s calm, you went away

    Whispering in mellow notes

    How the flying feather floats

    Flapping flags, and market totes

Flirting with knickers, scooting up skirts

    Waving daiseys and swirling dirt

Swooshing past, pricking up your hair

Turn around and look, no one’s there

    Shaking lamp posts, bending trees

    Tugging laundry, jingling keys

Blustery, moaning, was that the breeze

    Gusty, squally sea gulls fly

Balloons and paper go bye bye

    Gone forever, why, why, why

O’mighty wind do you not care

    You are here, there, everywhere

    Leaving harbors, beaches bare

    Captured up you’ll never be,

Can’t be stopped, you must be free

    Invisible as you go past,

On the face, it’s such a blast

    Angry, musing, soft and strong

O’beauty wind where have you gone

    Likely no where, along

    -M. Jacobs

Lovely visuals! This one plays and frolics while touching on potential fury. I love the wind, water, all things natural... this one gets a 10 from me.

Except for a couple of lines you captured several moments we all have experienced. And fine moments they are.

Heard this in a song "Love is like the wind. You can't see it but you can feel it." I will always remember that line. Enjoyed the poem

That wind, that wind sure is lucky, to wild and play, everywhere, in everyway.

    Thanks for reading and commenting.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
