    Winter Rain

    Rain falls softly to the ground

    As I look out my window,

    Caressing the Earth like

    The hand of a gentle lover;

     

    I look out and watch the droplets

    And let them take my thoughts to

    Distant things like a lone ship

    Sailing into the horizon;

     

    Slowly they come and envelop

    Me and take me up to the sky,

    Drifting, drifting away . . .

    i really liked the way you punctuated your poem and where you added your line breaks. the subject matter tickled my imagination as well :]

    You write very similar to myself, but maybe that's because I was born in Tacoma! I miss WA so bad and love to find people from there that I can relate too. Your words are so deep yet simple also. Keep up the good work.

    Thank you. I'm originally from the Eastside and this is an older poem but it's good to meet a former local. I can't wait to check out some of your poems.
