    Woods

     I've gone to
    The depths
    Of the woods
    To find myself
    If I should not
    Return,
    Then my task
    Is still left
    Unfulfilled,
    If years should
    Pass,
    Not a footstep
    Heard,
    Nor hide or
    Hair of me
    Seen,
    Don't send anyone
    For all they
    Shall find is
    That I
    Have grown old
    And wise,
    Knowing about
    All that is
    Around me,
    But not of
    What is truly
    Myself,
    Here on my
    Tree stump,
    They will find
    A smiling old
    Woman,
    Still years too
    Green to understand
    What those
    Before and
    Those that
    Will come
    After, Have
    Tried to,
    Ourselves.

    Yes, the wise young lady seems a lifetime removed from concerns of being a wise old woman. Assuredly she will be so one day as she is a wise young lady today. Search inside .. for it is there what you seek.
