    A Fountain Song

    Weep no more, sad fountains;
What need you flow so fast?
    Look how the snowy mountains
       Heaven’s sun doth gently waste.
       But my sun’s heavenly eyes
           View not your weeping,
           That now lies sleeping
       Softly, now softly
                Sleeping.

    Sleep is a reconciling,
       A rest that peace begets.
     the sun does rise smiling
When fair at even he sets?
Rest you then, rest, sad eyes,
           Melt not in weeping
           While I lie sleeping
    Softly, now softly
                Sleeping.

You are a pure poetess! So heavenly and lovely your words call from sky to winging birds So resolute the soul's treasure Divine from lips mirthful measure Your tensioned bow slings arrows swift To those who await your worded gift Currents run in waters deep that wash anew your dreaming sleep I love this poem!! Applause Crescendo!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment Marsink. You must have mistaken.I am not the one you think I am :))

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
