A Part Of Me I Needed To See

A Part Of Me I Needed To See

look at yourself and take the blame.
the choices you make bring you your own pain.
if five different people can say about you the same thing,
then it is not them; only you to shame.

evaluate with honesty your goods and bads.
take away the wrongs and make the happiness last.
to find joy with other's, you must find joy with yourself.
your eyes may see, but they are blind as well.

i stepped into my own shoes and walked a few miles.
they were old and torn from my lifestyle.
i kept pushing on, but complained how my feet hurt.
if doing the same things don't work,
then what is it worth.

i came to the conclusion that i need to work on me.
it is myself that keeps me from being agony free.
i learned not to point one for back at me points three.
it feels so good to see me for me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
