    Addiction

They are like the deadliest disease
    Can you kick the habit
Or are you going to just feed
The addiction that you think  is just a bad habit

Is there really such a thing
    That can control your life
Can it take you under its wing
Or is it just time to start the fight

I am one of the unfortunate
    I am an addict
How many pills have I ate
When does the death sentence really stick

Does God take mercy on my soul
Or is that my higher power
None of this was my goal
I am like milk, I went sower

    Everyday is one big struggle
Do I jump off or just keep riding
Sometimes all I want is a hug
But everyone says I don't have the right

When is enough going to be enough
How do I get the will power on my own
I know it will be rough
But everybody wants me to do it alone

I can relate to this poem. It is simple and that makes it all the more realistic! Good Job!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
