Poem Commentary

This poem was done over time as my son grew in his first year I wrote. It all came from the bottom of my heart. He is now 4 and when I read him this poem he grins from ear to ear and it stays on his face for quite a long period of time.

Austin's 1st Year

All these months and you're finally here,
I'm so tired , but not to much to hold you my dear;
I smile at how you fit right in my arms,
And, I'll kill whoever causes you harm.

I'm starting to get to know you better,
And now I know it is to you I will cater;
You start to reach your lil hand to my face,
Then my heart starts beating at such a fast pace.

Now you're starting to try to creepy crawl,
And on your tiny tummy down you fall;
Wow look at that there you go Austy,
Crawlin like a pro thats my honey bunny.

Look at that baby you're starting to stand,
Do you wanna walk come here, grab my hand;
Streighten out those feet, baby, you're doing great,
I'm so proud of you, Austy, my first mate.

Hey Austy you're walking on your own,
See sweet boy you're doing it and all alone;
Two more moths and you're one year old,
I wish I could put your growing on hold.

This is a really sweet poem... i enjoyed reading it.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
