    Belonged To Me

I never knew the truth on love,
I never knew what love could be.
I seen its power within this world,
    but never belonged to me.

Then one day an angel called,
    The pain began to heal.
At last I saw the truth on love,
At last it was so real.

When the voice called out for me,
I knew it was so right.
The darkness in my aching heart,
    had truly seen the light.

Her love fills my beating heart,
    Did I deserve to have?
The only answer I know for sure,
    A life without her....

    ...I could never have.

The truth lies within her eyes,
It was surely meant to be.
    The power of true love,
    At last belonged to me.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
