    bitter wounds
    bitter wounds i have
    mock me everyday you do
    'till i cry in pain

    why don't you stop it
    will you please just drop it now
    can't you see i'm hurt?

    why do you pretend
    that you are not hurting me
    when the pain is real

    oh, ye bitter wounds
    having them rub salt on you
    'till my flesh is raw
