    Change

I am writing this at the moment
    Of change
Writing on the hues of a once hostile home
Chilled by the impossibilities of what I thought I could never know
    I am writing this
In deference to the spirits of my ancestors
To the the oppressed, to the obstacled,
    to the obstructed individuals that
    Unfairly tasted death
I am writing this at the moment
    Of change
The moment when all dreams no longer have to be differed The moment when we realized the truths British zealots
Who rebelled against the instruments of hate and subjugation
These are word bubble lifting to the tears placed in the sky.. The sweetest joys
Never shall I forget this feeling!
When I believe that former slaves children can fly
    Can soar
Can levitate beyond the silent chains of pain and prejudice Where urban
night screams explode past the empty sounds of degradation...
I am writing this at the moment
    Of change
    From hate to love
    When company comes
    I too am singing
    America America land that
    I love
From experiments in Booker home school
To the humanity robbing expedition done afar
    I am writing this for
    Malcolm And
    Medgar
    Jesse And Jesus
    Nat and
    Stokely
    And Assata
    Emmit and
    Fredrick
    Khallid And Johnny
    And Elijah
    Marvin
    And Martin
    Amadou and
    Sean
    and Huey
    and
for those 4 little girls ...
    Yes we can...
    change
