Cold

    Cold

Held up inside with a twist in fate,

Being what is near and cold

Ripping out my soul through all that is expressed

    Changing my mind

    Hopless and untold

    Understand it...

Only blood drips out my veins

Bringing out what has been lost

    And being vain

    Let it leave...

    Dripping down my crooked soul

A thought left to burn in hell

    Neither silent nor blatant

    Just thinking....

    Thinking how It speaks

How it says what it means

    Let it be known...

    Time and time again

Changing what has ripped me apart

Like a knife through my heart

It was all done from the start

I like it. I really like it. I like how your words are so amazingly great

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
