Conflict

Conflict

Silence invades
The battlefield of our home
Quiet aftermath
Of forced destruction
The stench of slander
Hanging heavy in the air.

Stinging blows
Of angry words
Delivered by one
More brutal than I
Leaves my prostrate form
Uncaring to rise.

Harsh words from a loved one can devastate and leave us paralyzed. 10 from me.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
