Cracks In your heart.
They come in all sizes,
Some tall and wide,
Some short and slim,
But they share one thing in common,
And that’s the pain they bring.
You try to cover your first one,
In hope to ease the pain,
But somehow the cover keeps slipping off
Over and over again.
You finally got it to stick to it
And it soothes the scar for you,
You go back out into the open,
To try yourself anew.
With this courage you’ve built to go on,
You take the chance with another,
It seems to be going well,
But suddenly you receive the other.
This one hurts even more than the first,
And it really tears you down,
You hold on tight trying to soothe it,
But it manages to bleed around.
You thought surely, this one would break it,
Giving up,
Not realizing that you could take it.
But that same light from your heart,
Still bright with love,
Shun through the gap,
To give you a shove.
You mend the gap,
And was made strong again,
Promising to never lack,
The strength you gain,
That will keep you from falling from just a crack.
