Death
I have seen death right in the eye.
As teens on night we were riding high,
Not high on drugs, but, high on life,
One night, one bullet, a lifetime filled with strife.
I have seen death right in the eye.
In love as we knew it-we thought we had the entire pie.
His life was filled with others jealousy and envy,
To heaven is where they would send thee.
I have seen death right in the eye,
A beautiful woman, yet a little girl deep inside,
Wondering aimlessly-her pride she would hide.
One night, one man,
Her death he would have on his hand.
I have seen death right in the eye,
He was a ghetto super star,
With his words and lyrics he'd drift too far.
One night he laid his head to rest-he would see,
There is a heaven for a G.
I have seen death right in the eye,
I too shall meet my maker,
Until then my family prays, "do not take her."
I've lived and loved with so much more to see.
Until that day- on earth is where I will be.
