Dew On Death's Door
I said goodbye.
Tho' memory keeps you close
for now.
Smiles formed
as memories spilled out
with tears.
Then
tears dry
memories fade
and soon the dark shade of death
blends into the grey of forgetfulness.
Then
I paid a visit.
Memories rose
laughter formed
tears ran free like dew
upon the cold granite stone
and you were alive again.
Tho' memory keeps you close
for now.
Smiles formed
as memories spilled out
with tears.
Then
tears dry
memories fade
and soon the dark shade of death
blends into the grey of forgetfulness.
Then
I paid a visit.
Memories rose
laughter formed
tears ran free like dew
upon the cold granite stone
and you were alive again.
