Earthquake

It was an earthquake Heart shake Till the edge of break What happened to sweet simplicity Are you missing me This is killing me Tears bring no serenity The ear rings Bring horrible stings Each breath of air Stings for care But they all still stare I lost my mind somewhere But who will care Blood seeps from the pores of my hair It comes with sacrifice Pay the price You should only have to do this once not twice Don't think I'm wise I should cut all ties Before I meet my demise No screams or cries I'm about to explode My minds on over load You took my hand And left me for a band This is my last stand

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
