    Poem Commentary

This is my first poem here on this site, I hope you like it! I think the poem speaks for itself...

    Enough is enough

    Sleepless dreaming
    day and night
    night and day
    endless streaming

    Pacing
    heart racing
    dog is in the yard
and his tail he is chasing

    Like I chase you
    in circles, not fair
    you have me wrapped tightly
like a finger in my hair

    Tangled
    mangled
    strangled
    You roped my heart

    Wrangled
    and rode until you
    tamed me...
    You tamed me!

    And then you shamed me
    ignored me
    stood me up
    and blamed me

    Enough
    is enough
    boxes are packed
    full of my stuff

    Footsteps tap on
    hardwood floor
    creaking sounds from
    the opening door

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
