Poem Commentary

Because lies left unexposed are empowered to destroy the goodness.

Exposed

Dare you really ask why?

(I wrote this poem about you)

Without an alert advising refrain, no reference to disdain;

no wisdom from which to gain insight,

You would remain a hope, in vain, you dirty stain!

What a costly drain it was to obtain and sustain your pain.

Oh, that I might train even one, who will ascertain!

That is the main reason why! You must die, you lie.

A woman scorned hath one hellish muse. Erma Bombeck on a rant, I take it. Because you're through doing that anymore. Harv

It couldn't be you! Actually, it was a fun little exercise - to take a word (mine was rain) and rhyme it as hard as you can in 1 minute; then write a thought about it (mine was: washes away dirt) and then write a poem without using it, in 3 minutes or less! It was fun and I am glad you liked it!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.

Walt Whitman, American Poet (1819-1892)
