Fade

Fade

The fire inside me burns

With the never ending pain
Only feeling anguish
The misfortune and the shame

We now wallow in our own turmoil
Letting thoughts destroy our minds
Feeling sorry for ourselves
Pausing our lives; trying to rewind

Tell me how happiness
Fades so fast
And once healthy relationships
Don't seem to last
The sparkles in our eyes
Use to shine so bright
Now all we see is anger
Cuz all we do is fight
As time goes on
We begin to deteriorate
And we no longer share love
But afflict hate
I fail to understand
Why I stay through it all
I should be able to move on
And stand strong and tall
But I'm constantly reminded
That I love you so much
And I smile at your name
And shiver at your touch
Your gentle tone
Draws me back in
But often soon after
The fights just begin
The connection isn't lost
And my love has not strayed
But I feel our compassion
Beginning to fade
Is this all worth
What hell we go through
In the end I truly feel
I want to be with you.
