Lost

I can feel the sun on my skin thou it brings me no warmth or comfort,
As, I walk I can see others hand in hand smileing, laughing, holding
the hand of their lovers and not knowing how it feels to be like me
walking alone day after day, year after year or what it's like to feel
cold and empty on the inside because none take the time to truely see
me or notice the emptyness within me. I sit in front of some grave as
the emptyness swells with in me with no hope for me. This world is not
meant for me is my last thought as I feel the sting followed by the
warmth of running and flowing blood on my hands followed by darkness.
I walked alone then as I do even now in my death.

Re: Lost

That is so sad and yet this is so truely how so many feel. Depression affects so many people. So many feel lost, alone, and unseen. I liked the descriptors used in this, the sun shining down on you, but not feeling even the slightest bit of warmth...until the end, the warmth of the blood pouring over you as you end it all. Then, the last verse really makes one think....still alone. At least that gives the message that suicide isn't the answer. I think it is good that there is always the bond of sharing when this kind of poetry is shared, because we have all felt it at one time or another. In sharing the poem and getting postive responses we all know we aren't truely alone...we are heard...we do matter! (Sorry if that's a bit cheesy!) hmmm

Bloodbath and R.H.Peat - I love your writing.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
