Final Verse

Euphoria forgone

and lost forever

in timeless time

where basic bears

the name of love

forgotten and forsaken

before god immortal and

masters speaking

the wisdom of time

indestructible to unhearing

ears and ears hearing.

A soul cries out in pain

to watch his seraph entangled

in pain and hurt while

all the while knowing

that her happiness

lies with him - gentle

wise and knowing -

tender tales told

by one, longing

for a brief moment

in time where

hearts embrace and

truth be known,

damn convention and

past painful history

experience.

A mind wise and

certain of one thing.

His angel in the cloud

of another who,

try though he might

sets his path and destiny

elsewhere.

A lonely night

amid dreams of dreams

unfulfilled and lost.

Where is destiny now?

She hath forsaken me

like Christ on the cross

bearing the weight of

the world who unknowingly

forsakes his gift of unrequited

love and affection.

A final plea goes

out to the world -

if thou art happy

and content, then why

does thou covet thy

pain which, easily shared

may be halved

by the one with

whom understanding

and wisdom lies -

awaiting only the gentlest touch

of angelic grace?

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.

Walt Whitman, American Poet (1819-1892)
