Treasured Thoughts

Your forever my Mary Jane,
My lovely Lois Lane,
I'll never see you differently,
It will never get the best of me,
Your first my friend, certainly,
I swear to treat you admirably,
But I do admire you secretly,
And wish you were mine so humbly,
From a far I'll treasure you,
Would it ever occur to you,
I think of golden moments through,
I'll forever be in love with you,
Even if you never knew.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
