AMERICA

I came with hope to America
Because I heard that here…our dreams may become true
But in reality… I just escaped
… Running away from loneliness,
Leaving behind my grieve, hiding to myself the truth

When I arrived to America
I saw a doorway opened to relieve my wounds and pains
At the front… a huge sculpture
Showing peaceful understanding … it was the warrior of freedom
…proud symbol of Liberty in all American hearts

As I settled in America
I looked to myself for answers …very deep inside my soul
A piece of Art… touched my senses
Carved in stone were engraved, the heads of four chosen leaders
One hundred and fifty years… recorded up in the mountains…
…Pillars of Values and Virtues of this treasured land

Now I live in America
And though I know the old memories will be sometimes in my life
I found hope… and a new culture…
I found my home …my horizon
No more grieve… nor wounds… nor pain

Re: AMERICA

THANK YOU!!! grin

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
