A chocolate-cookie recipe wanted...

I was wondering if you would post your favorite chocolate-cookie recipe here. I know there are a lot of poets out there that won't share their cookies, let alone their recipe, but I was hoping there is a good pastry baker out there in poetry-land to share a recipe.....................!

Re: A chocolate-cookie recipe wanted...

Does the one on the back of the chocolate chip package count?
If not I can give you some story about how my great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother came up with the recipe and it was passed down from generation to generation through word of mouth, always on the female side of the family and whoever had the recipe would wait until they were on their deathbed to pass along the secret of the Best Cookie Recipe ever because the recipe was so amazing that everyone wanted it and it was gaurded ferociously by my ancestors. And how my mom cheated and told me anyway. Now I hold the secret of the Best Cookie Recipe ever in the universe.
Would that work? LOL

Re: A chocolate-cookie recipe wanted...

No, Caity, the one on the package is a generic recipe. Now, this recipe that goes back to your 6-great grandmother would have to have been made with the milk from a Mastodon, and she probably had to bake the cookies in a cave over a fire pit.........but, I have a feeling that you are pulling my leg...

I am indeed pulling your leg.
But only because you make it so easy.
I wish you luck in your hunt for an awesome cookie recipe.

Re: A chocolate-cookie recipe wanted...

I have one that we think is deliriously delicious... but even so, the secret really lies in taking them out of the oven at just the right time so they will be done, yet soft and lovely... even the best recipe can be "crumby" if overdone in the oven. LOL

Well, Caity, since you were so honest with me, I will let you read my new poem...nothing to do with cookies, but there's something cooking on this Luisiana farm...

I'm familiar with Gertrude Stein, but I never knew of Alice. I'll have to check her out on Google.

Gant, these are powerful, I am not sure of should even venture to consider tasting them, some say they are somewhat poisened fruit of the forbidden artistic vine.

Be sure to use "green butter",
the kind you purchase at your local
"medicinal herb" store.

It tends to enhance the magic of the chocolate;
if you do not believe me: "…go ask Alice, I think she knows…"

Re: A chocolate-cookie recipe wanted...

Here is a recipe my great grandmother passed down to my mother. Mix ingredients as you normally would do, place in oven for the normal amount of time at the normal temperature...and, hmmm................yummy.

Ingredients:
4 ounces butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup good quality cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
dash salt

Re: A chocolate-cookie recipe wanted...

Well, that's a start, chief. Now if we could just get the normal mixing, baking time, and temperature, we might have some great chocolate cookies. Thank you.................

big surprise.......................................gogant

Re: A chocolate-cookie recipe wanted...

pre-heat oven to 350
bake 20 mins. or until done,

or check "done" by using the "toothpick" method
of poke and pull: a doughy toothpick, bake longer;
a dry toothpick, brownies are done:

serve with organic dark french roast,
fair-trade, shade grown coffee in a large mug for dipping. tongue laugh

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
