Embrace The Empty Distance, You Don't Know What's Real

Story of her life;
Squeaky and unexpected
Walking upon a cage looking for an open door
Looking above,
There is everything that could be
Too quick a time here to learn secrets
Not enough time to find an ulterior motive
Sent here to work, she procrastinated
Not knowing what was to be done,
It led to deceive her
Is there anyone out there like she?
Feeling empty
In a way no other has explained
Empty in the queerest of ways
Emptiness is what she stood for because whom she stood for was distant
& distance feels empty to us

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
