    I cry

I cry and cry and try and try, but life is just too blank
I wish I was surrounded by pure hearts to guide me to the light
The light you'd think would being easy to find living in a land of darkness
But there are so many impostures with well disguises that cover my eyes with blindness

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
