I Write Because

I Write Because

I Write
I write because it keeps me free in the deadness of my own imprisoned thoughts…

I write because it allows me to be alive and express emotions whether happy or sad…

I write because I can be so filled with words that my mind can no longer focus on one thing…

I write because I don’t have to hide behind a mask or be afraid of someone knowing my sensitivity…

I write because I am connected to myself, expose of myself, and loved by myself…

I write because my heart and soul tells me that it is acceptable to be me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
